I wonder when girls are going to realize that being thin isn’t the key to happiness.

Having a flat stomach isn’t going to stop other people from making fun of you. Having a thigh gap isn’t going to stop you from getting hurt and getting your heart broken. Weighing 100 pounds isn’t going to make you love yourself.

If you hate your body and lose weight just to be accepted, you’ll never be satisfied. You’ll consistently find new things to hate about yourself, never being comfortable in your own skin.

I’ll never understand where people got this ridiculous idea that thin=happy. You can be happy at any size, as long as you love yourself.

Wake up.

You can buy your hair if it won’t grow, you can fix your nose if he says so.

I’ve been on stophatingyourbody.tumblr.com and I can say I’ve fallen in love with it.

Everybody should be able to look in the mirror and realize how beautiful they are. I don’t care what you look like, how much you weigh, what marks you have on your body, you are lovely. I promise.

Nobody has the right to call anybody else ugly. I’m so tired of hearing guys tear down women based on the way they look, who the fuck are you to lower a woman’s confidence? Shut the fuck up.

I don’t associate myself with those who put others down to feel good about themselves.

I don’t think I’ll ever understand this.

How in the world does somebody think they have the right to mock somebody for the way he/she looks? Looks fade. Everybody’s looks fade. Honestly, they don’t matter at all to me, and they shouldn’t matter to anybody else either.

Now of course I understand that when dating becomes involved, you need to be attracted to your partner, that’s a given. However treating someone poorly just because you don’t find them aesthetically pleasing is repulsive.

Girls, if you are happy with the way you look, fuck everybody else. Your opinion is the only one that matters. Don’t starve yourself because you aren’t a size double zero, or because your thighs touch, or because your stomach isn’t perfectly flat, just stop it. I can promise that you all have beautiful features, whether you think so or not.

It just baffles me that people think it’s okay to tear somebody’s self esteem down for no reason at all. Who are you to tell somebody they’re ugly? Who are you to tell somebody they’re fat? You’re fucking nobody.

I’d rather be called ugly or fat than dumb/simple minded/shallow/ignorant any day of the week.
